Kids' Room is finished

This weekend Eric painted the kids room and put up new bunkbeds and a dresser. I really like how it turned out. I'm still looking for some boy pics to put up, but that will come. We painted it blue because the plan is to have this as the boys room in a couple of years when the baby moves to a bed. It was hard to coordinate a girl and boy room but I think it worked out well.

Times to laugh...times to cry...times to scream...times to say "ah"

The other day Morgen and Carsten were actually reading books by themselves for a long period of time! It was great! This doesn't ever happen. It has helped going to the library and getting new books. They really have been excited about reading them even if we usually have to read to them.

Today, Morgen and Carsten's friends Jonas and Ella came over to play. Beth and I were having too much fun talking upstairs and it was so nice a quiet downstairs that it was too good to be true. The first sign of trouble was Carsten coming up with his hands full of soap from the shower, so we then came down to investigate. We found Morgen and Ella with juice boxes(from the laundry room) lined up on Morgen's dresser. I think I counted around 15 and 6-7 of them opened with straws in them. There was juice dripped throughout the room and they were having "so much fun". Hmmm--we did enjoy our conversation upstairs and no wonder it was so quiet and peaceful for the moment.

Swimming in the middle of Minnesota Winter

I had been wanting to take Morgen and Carsten to the Maple Grove Community Center Pool. We finally went. They had a blast, but now they have had colds for the past week. Oh well! : )

Eric was shaving while Carsten was taking a bath and I came in to find Carsten with shaving cream all over him. What a ham. He loved every minute of it.

Carsten's friend Shaun came over for lunch yesterday. They were born 7 days apart.

Aunt Bekah came over to celebrate with us!

He got a truck, train puzzle, coloring books, more Thomas stuff, and...

And, a stuffed black lab puppy! He had seen it at a store and loved it. Although tonight he didn't really show it until bed time. He did end up sleeping with it. He wanted to play with his toys more at the moment.
